On the occasion of its 7th anniversary (August 18, 2025) and marking two years since the launch of its comprehensive restructuring program, Bamboo Airways will officially relocate all domestic flight operations to and from Ho Chi Minh City to Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

A New Age, A New Milestone

Initially, Bamboo Airways’ check-in counters will be located at counters 43-50 (opposite gates D2 and D3 at Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport), with potential extension to counters 43-52 depending on actual demand and capacity. The airline’s last-minute ticketing counter will be placed right at Gate D2 for passengers’ convenience.

This move to Terminal T3 is not just an operational shift—it also reflects Bamboo Airways’ proactive adaptation to Vietnam’s national airport infrastructure reorganization strategy. Amid persistent congestion at Tan Son Nhat Airport, operating from the new, modern, and spacious Terminal T3 is expected to enhance operational efficiency and significantly improve the travel experience for Bamboo Airways passengers.

To ensure that passengers are fully and accurately informed, Bamboo Airways will actively share updates through all official communication channels, including its website, official fan page, email, SMS, and Zalo OA. The airline recommends passengers stay updated to avoid confusion and ensure smooth travel.

Maximizing Passenger Support During the Transition

To support passengers during the transition period, Bamboo Airways will implement a special policy for travelers flying to/from Tan Son Nhat Airport during the first 7 days of the changeover (August 18-24, 2025). Specifically, passengers who miss their flight from Terminal T3 due to unfamiliarity with the new terminal, but arrive at T3 within 20 minutes after the departure time printed on their ticket and are confirmed by Bamboo Airways ground staff, will be eligible for a free ticket change to the next available flight on the same route.

If the next flights are fully booked, the airline will still support passengers by changing tickets to the next available flight with empty seats, free of charge, and without fare difference. For routes with only one flight per day, passengers will be rebooked on the same route for the following day at no additional cost.

“With thorough preparation and reasonable support policies for those unfamiliar with the transition, Bamboo Airways expects the move to Terminal T3 for all domestic flights to go smoothly,” said a Bamboo Airways representative.

Seamless Connection, Enhanced Passenger Experience

Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport is Vietnam’s largest domestic passenger terminal, with a total floor area of 112,500 m² across 4 above-ground levels and 1 basement level. Designed to handle 7,000 passengers during peak hours and 20 million passengers annually, Terminal T3 will boost Tan Son Nhat Airport’s total capacity to 50 million passengers per year once fully operational, easing congestion at existing terminals and improving overall efficiency.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, Terminal T3 includes 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 self-service drop-off counters, 42 kiosk check-in machines, 27 boarding gates (13 with jet bridges and 14 bus gates), 25 security screening points, and exclusive VIP and business lounges. In addition to enhanced operational capabilities, the terminal also promises an improved passenger experience with its modern, user-friendly, and comfortable design.

The Ho Chi Minh City government is also improving accessibility to Terminal T3 by launching the new Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa road. This 4-kilometer route, with a total investment of over VND 4,800 billion, will provide a direct and synchronized connection between the new terminal and key traffic arteries, helping reduce the chronic congestion around Tan Son Nhat Airport.
