People who have seen both the 2005 and the 2022 Elvis movies, which one do you like better?

I stayed up past 3 am to watch the 2005 Elvis movie and I really liked it. I feel like in some ways it was better than the 2022 film, but I also feel like in some ways the 2022 film was better.

Things I liked from the 2005 film:

• In terms of an actor who looks like Elvis, the actor in the 2005 film looked a LOT like young Elvis. More so than Austin Butler.

• This film really focused on a lot of his career, like stuff that happened off stage. I liked that. There were even some things that happened that I didn't know happened.

• It detailed Priscilla and Elvis' relationship very well. Even though the actress didn't look like Priscilla, and even though I'm not a fan of lots of make-out scenes in movies, it related to their story perfectly.

• The 2005 film also handled Elvis' drug addiction very well.

Things I like about the 2022 film: -The music (and dancing) was done much better in the 2022 film. Austin Butler was actually singing and he looked and sounded great. In the 2005 film, while they were able to use Elvis' real songs, they were all poorly lip synced. I also feel like Butler also sounded more like Elvis in how he talked.

• This movie was slightly more accurate in showing the firing of Tom Parker. In the 2005 movie, Elvis fired him during the 68 comeback special, when really he wasn't fired until the 70s, which the 2022 film, did slightly better. However the 2005 version has a more realistic showing of how the firing happened, where the 2022 film displayed it more wrong with Elvis firing him on stage when that didn't really happen.

• The 2005 film ended with the 68 comeback special and the "If I Can Dream" scene (which I skipped. I couldn't take the lip-syncing anymore). The 2022 film did a great job at showing the later parts of Elvis' career.

• I feel like it did a better job at portraying Elvis' mom's death and the effect it had on him.

• Also, a small thing, but the actress who played Priscilla looked a lot more like her in the 2022 film.

In both films though, I liked how they both displayed Elvis' career with Tom Parker. Both films did a good job at that. Both films also displayed Elvis' relationship with his mother in a great way.
