Anyone else pissed off with You Just Made My Day???

Oh thank you yes I would love to hahaha! I totally agree. The plot is barely moving. The number of chapters (and I think 2-3 times in some chapters) where she tells us why she came back is eye-rolling. Like yes we get it, you want to know why. Please move on to the doing.

The reason I find it particularly frustrating is because she is clearly a book-smart person. She gets great grades. It’s not that she doesn’t have a good working brain. And yet she finds the need to dwell on certain things endlessly.

Also I find it highly annoying how she has so little agency- she is rarely shown responding to queries from her classmates. Her responses are usually ‘Oh?’ ‘?’ or ‘…’ Like why is she always caught off guard??

It’s only in her conversations with Eunho or Seulbeom that she’s showing thought.

The narrative does say she and the girl in the bathroom spent a lot of time conversing together but it’s like showing that would give her too much personality? It’s weird.

I will say I perversely enjoyed the toy hunt because it was creepy as heck and really showcased Seulbeom’s manipulative/psycho nature to me. I’m glad she finally caught on. But the comments are all goo-goo eyed about what is in effect harassment. I like romance but yes in this case the mystery of it all is what I really care about.

Also I have questions about the classmates behaviour. Who tossed the cake? What was the Eunho mannequin that someone sliced up about? Who took their photo? Why did Seulbeom steal the glow pen? Is the photo of Eunho, Seulbeom and their female friend from kindergarten important somehow? What happened to Yebom’s mother?

All to say, I can’t believe a whole season passed and she’s almost exactly where she was at the start! I know the author said they needed a break but honestly they could have cut the story in half. We didn’t even get to see the reaction to the toy! What do you think it was?
